Why we monitor this

Monitoring the size and mix of municipal revenue sources helps indicate whether municipal revenue generation policies are achieving required revenue in a fair and efficient way.

What this measures

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) generates revenue through a variety of sources such as hotel tax, property tax, grants, fees and charges, and investment income. These revenue streams are grouped and associated revenue to fund ongoing operations is presented in this indicator. Tax fees included in the population equivalent figure include property tax, fees and charges,Resort Municipality Initiative Funds and the Municipal Regional District Tax (MRDT or Hotel Tax).
