Satisfaction levels with opportunities to provide input into decision making remained statistically stable for permanent residents and showed a statistical decrease for second homeowners.  Current performance is on the low side for both permanent residents and second homeowners and has decreased a fair amount since 2015.

Why we monitor this

Providing community members with opportunities to provide input into decision-making represents an inclusive approach to community development.  Monitoring community members’ satisfaction with the input opportunities reflects the current public perception of genuine engagement, and may impact the quality and ownership over decisions that are made.

What this measures

This indicator reports community members’ satisfaction with opportunities for input to community decisions such as rezoning, bylaws, programs, festivals and events, and other important public activities. Data is collected annually through the Community Life Survey.
